Keep also in mind w/ PC games w/ shader issues, esp. on 1st run-through: provided you don't change GPU and/or its drivers, the replay should be smoother b/c it'll already been "warmed-up" from the 1st time & cached properly for re-entering areas & re-usage of special FX & anything shader-related.

Yeah, I think Deck should be fine, given what I've seen online. It's shocking how good some stuff on the Deck can run (esp. newer stuff like this), when dev's actually optimize & build around lower-spec hardware and work around stuff.

Nice!

Also, for more good Kevin Bacon stuff, don't miss this TV series. It's really good.

UE5's just demanding as heck on most PC's; I'm sure bloated Windows OS itself & the bloated DirectX API don't help either. Probably why it's running okay on the Deck; dev's can just build around that one Steam Deck hardware & it's also LinuxOS-based w/ SteamOS, which is a lot leaner (than Windows).

UE5-based games on PC are always going to be a dice-roll - w/ shader-caching needed; shader & traversal stutters; & other things/problems w/ the engine. UE5 games also need optimizing on dev's end too. 1/2

Also it’s already been out for Nintendo Switch and Steam!

The problems modern consoles often sadly have right now w/ UE5 games is poor performance w/ low-framerates b/c they got older hardware - see WuChang and WuKong. 2/2.

Borderlands 5 is on Unreal Engine 5. UE5 normally sucks on PC b/c it demands a NASA rocket-ship PC & shaders don't get compiled on PC at all - PC ain't fixed boxes, so they can't do that. Consoles have fixed boxes & can compile them, so they often don't have those shader issues at all. 1/2

Always try to stay a bit away from hitting your total VRAM count too. Turn settings down, if need be & possible - so you ain't hitting your total VRAM count. Of course, since GK ain't optimized on PC - could just be the engine (UE4) & its optimization (lack thereof). 2/2

Another thing you could check - turn on new Metrics settings in Steam & see if VRAM is choking you. Some games at higher settings just eat VRAM galore. If it does - i.e. it gets close to your total VRAM count or if it actually does go over it - yup, it'll choke your system & its performance dips.1/2

Literally, throw on MSI Afterburner, display all cores & watch most of 'em just...do nothing; GK wasn't built for lots of CPU-cores. If GK actually used all your cores or even my cores right, it'd probably run really good. 2/2

Again, Gotham Knights doesn't utilize CPU cores. It was on older-gen hardware, which has less cores. The extra CPU cores sit there & do little to nothing for usage. They probably didn't build the game around players w/ more CPU cores. They probably just made sure "the game runs." 1/2

Now, UE5 stuff has all kinds of stutters on PC due to shaders & other problems. Modern UE5 stuff can be demanding. At Gotham Knights supporting RT (even if that is UE4), as good as it looks, will flat-out kill performance. 2/2

Not wild. It's Unreal Engine based; that's par for the course. That engine has had stutters going as far back at original Unreal game, LOL. And even stuff like Gears of War (original PC port) - that had it real bad back then. 1/2

It wasn't the best running game when I played it, TBH. It doesn't utilize CPU cores well, even if you got a lot of 'em; a lot of 'em feel wasted. You'll probably run it better than me w/ your GPU though. I had it (in 2023) at 50-60fps at High at 1080p w/ DLSS on Balanced on my RTX 3070 (desktop).

Most DontNod stuff is at least good or solid. I really liked this game; underrated. Also loved Vampyr and I'm loving Banishers so far.

Yes. And the JRPG genre never died; it's still been going along just fine...esp. in the AA & Indie space - i.e. Persona series, Dragon Quest series, Soul Hackers 2, SMT series, Octopath Traveler, Ni No Kuni series, "Tales of..." series, The Legend of Heroes series, The Last Remnant, Metaphor RF,etc.
