It's the SNP National Council this weekend, and a decision/statement on its position on independence is expected. It is *vital* that the SNP announces an aggressive and determined plan for campaigning for independence as their no.1 policy. Otherwise turnout by SNP voters in GE2026 will slump. Again.

In 2023, Scotland generated 48.7 TWh of electricity from all sources. Of this wind contributed 25.8 TWh and hydro 4.6 TWh.
Scotland is a net exporter of electricity, with 15.9 TWh exported in 2023, or 33.8% of its generation.
Zonal pricing would mean lower prices for Scots!

This is spot on. Many insist Scotland wanting to be independent is somehow anti-English. It’s not. We’ll be delighted if England does well, but in the meantime we’d like to, and are entitled to, make our own choices.
