An employer payroll tax for high-earners is a policy #WaLeg must pass to provide critical funding for WA communities & to fight harmful federal funding cuts. 🧵SO many voices calling on #WaLeg & the governor to protect funding for communities, schools, the climate & public health. To prevent cuts, lawmakers must ensure the ultra-wealthy & corporations pay what they owe in taxes.

Love those faces. Check them out in Olympia fighting the good fight! #WaLeg, it's time to pass progressive revenue to help pay for the services that support us all. Like schools. Parks. Infrastructure. Public health. Safety net programs. (These funds are esp. important amid federal awfulness!)
We are in the Capitol Building with our friends at @budget-policy.bsky.social and @balanceourtaxcode.bsky.social to advocate for the progressive revenue proposals in the Senate:

While Trump wants to cut taxes on the rich, Washington state passed a policy to fairly tax the rich in 2021 — which has already raised $1.3 billion for child care and schools. More states should follow.

We won progressive taxes in our state by showing people just how unjust our tax code was. Other states can follow.
