You're just jealous because I know how to party

I'll be honest, this was my first ever solo campaign, and even though Zorthal only lasted two sessions of play before dying, it was such a glorious end.

Absolutely loved it.

Basking in his victory was short lived, however, as during the night he was ambushed by a solitary black legion champion.

Even with his masterwork chainmail, and his magical bronze circlet momentarily breaking the legionnaire with its Diamond Mind Shatter spell, he was simply no match, and fell.

Once the snake had been smote and the dagger recovered, he swam further down and found the skeleton of a less fortunate adventurer, but one who was still wearing a long shirt of masterwork chainmail!

He exited the cistern, threw on the armor, and set about making camp for the night.

He stumbled upon a buried cistern uncovered by the shifting muds, but overflowing with rainwater. Zorthal snuck inside, and immediately was set upon by a giant snake!

He grappled with the beast in the water, and struck a deadly blow with one of his copper daggers (3 exploding sixes on one roll!)

Day 3 saw heavy rains again, but less violent than day 2 and so Zorthal resumed his travels, albeit slowly.

Day 4 was where things got more interesting. The rains were much lighter, but the excessive storms the last two days caused numerous mudslides and Zorthal got turned about trying to navigate

The finding of the cave turned out to be serendipitous, as the next day was a violent storm that made travel impossible. Zorthal had no choice but to hole up in the cave and wait out the rains.

Day 1 saw Zorthal encounter a band of reavers patrolling the road through the plains (seven of them!) but he wisely decided to avoid them, and managed to sneak past them into the steppes.

There he found a small cave, and made camp for the night out of view.

Is that a thing?! Well that's serendipitous timing then!

And yeah, it was a good time. I'm an elf magic user (we started at 5th level) - my stats and spells are trash, but there's tons of hidden doors in the adventure we're playing so I'm still somewhat useful!

What makes this even better is I didn't know which game of yours it was going to be - expected Gnome, he went with Fallen. No wrong answers here
