As a dad, mediocre Francophone, and word nerd, I'm slightly disappointed that @zachweinersmith.bsky.social went with the English indefinite article instead of the French one (and no ligature!) in today's SMBC hover text: "Are 23 eggs not *an oeuf* for you?" vs "Are 23 eggs not *un œuf* for you?"

My wife showed me a video that an old friend of hers shared. It was of her and maybe 30 of her classmates when they were in high school, ca 1996, at a swim meet. Dozens of girls hanging out; doing homework; reading; doing handstands, somersaults, and other kinds of acrobatics; all sorts of stuff.

The White House's fancy-looking formula for reciprocal tariffs is a childishly poor obfuscation with 4*0.25: ustr.gov/issue-areas/...
Also, "Assuming ... general equilibrium effects are small enough to be ignored..." -- slapping tariffs on the entire world won't maintain equilibrium 🤦♂️

Last year, my wife got injured on a motorcycle and went to the ER for maybe 1.5-2 hours. Had some stitches, an x-ray, etc. Fortunately, nothing super serious, and she's fine.

I had to join a Zoom meeting for something extracurricular. My god, Zoom's UI is horrendous. How has this company not completely folded? And somehow, they apparently even have +50% market share vs Teams? The world has gone mad - MAD I SAY!
