Socrates: "What do you mean by 'illegal ideas'?"
ICE Agent: "Ideas that are against the law."
Socrates: "So you believe the government should determine which ideas are legal?"
ICE Agent: "Of course."
Socrates: "So you think the Constitution is illegal?"
ICE Agent: "Just drink the hemlock."

1. Major news: Remember those "Biological men"/"Biological Women" signs at University of Cincinnati?

They have come down thanks to MASSIVE student protests at the college, which have continued.

This was enlightening! I've always struggled to argue against the claim of my family members or others, that capitalism has enriched millions of people since its implementation. #philsky #capitalism #socialism #philosophy #anticapitalism #anarchist #anarchism

No, capitalism has not lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty
The illusion of progress is due to an economic sleight of statistical hand and a selective historical analysis that sanitizes capitalism's brutal human toll

Two philosophers headed on seemingly opposite directions: one toward a form of Christianity and the other away from it.

We ask Philosophers @helendecruz.net and @philipgoff.bsky.social about their spiritual and intellectual paths in the latest CTT chat.

I really appreciate Helen's call for #philosophers to realize that we are part of a larger intellectual web. That the "great" philosophers certainly did not stand on their own. #philsky #philosophy #thinkers

It is a very worthwhile, informative, and inspirational read! Many of the ideas remind me of those in Le Guin's, ' #TheDispossesed '

I can't put my finger on it, but calling it "revenge quitting" kind of rubs me the wrong way. Though with Forbes, I should expect that. It feels anti-labour, the solutions mentioned are just corporate jargon for CEO's to "reflect"

A fun question from @philosophypublics.bsky.social that got me thinking!
Thinking can feel loud, noisy, and/or tactile to me. What am I doing or thinking about tends to inform my experience. I find myself comparing thinking with feeling through mud or weaving a web.

I really like the analogies of thinking being a noisy or cacaphonus experience, and of it being a tactile experience. Maybe like objects webbed together, and following threads down to different part...

My lastest embroidery piece. I don't have adequate words to explain how I feel about things right now. Even if I did, I'm not sure it would be safe to express them. My anxiety tells me it's not even safe to post this, but I will not give up my visibility because it's all I have left. 💛🤍💜🖤 🧶
