9 years ago this morning it was -17 at altitude. I can't believe I took a plane up in that weather, but I had to ferry it to its new owner in Grand Rapids.

One of the things that surprised me in the MPR annual report is how few Legacy Society members there are. Poor Jean still thinks she's getting money when I die.

54 years ago tonight, I gave my class ring to a girl. And it's insane to me that I remember this every year on this date since .

Handmade wreath has arrived from my sister in the woods of Maine. She had a lot of shoulder issues this year so I know this was not a painless task. What a nice pick me up.

Today would be my brother Mike's 77th birthday. His mother died in childbirth and his father already had something like 9 kids. " They had to take you but they chose me," he'd often joke. But he always just OUR big brother.

I didn't know the entirety of the baggage she had to haul in that day. I just knew I was overjoyed to see her. I was so proud to find out on the last day I worked at MPR that I had made her burden just a bit lighter. What a parting gift that was

Reached this point in Mary Lucia's book & remember the moment exactly. All that blubbering on the last show we did a few years later traced to that moment . I had no clue that it had meant as much to her as it did to me and led to my Johnny Carlson analogy I'd first made at 420 later that day

White caps on Cape Cod Bay at my brother's house in Truro at the moment. But oh that blue sky!

The Newburyport light. It used to mean we made it to our summer trailer. 7 people packed into a trailer. It's my favorite memory of my youth.

The part that he built wrong, I built in 2018, and, according to my building log, I considered the possibility of what happened to the guy happening (although for different reasons)
