recently finished reading “the jakarta method” by @vincentbevins.bsky.social and i can’t stop thinking about it. more than anything, i found it a heartbreaking read, it takes you from hope to horror. informative but at times too simple. there’s a lot to say about it, i’m considering a full review

as a real newsmaxxer i really wish it was easier to keep up without a million billion apps, thirty subscriptions, an RSS feed you have to update every week because sometimes publications just stop posting to one, all on top of not letting the news itself make you cynical
