I did some digging today and I found a document explaining how Deutsche Bank's currency VIX index, or CVIX (.DBCVIX) is calculated. I'm posting a summary in the picture below. I'll be writing a post in my blog soon where I will analyze how CVIX can be used in #forex #trading. #EconSky

DBCVIX quite mysterious. It was hard to find a chart for it - I'm placing a link below. I still have not found any information on how it is calculated. If anyone happens to have any information on that I would be grateful if you could share.

I learned today that there is a volatility index for forex - Deutsche Bank's currency VIX index, or CVIX (.DBCVIX). And guess what? It is at its lowest level in two years. Should not be a surprise to anyone following the FX market...

I always thought that the 2% #inflation target was based on some research or extensive analysis, and now I read this article in Time claiming that it was produced out of thin air. Is the information in this article correct? Maybe someone has more insight into this? #economy

I was reflecting on the use of stop-loss in #trading, and an analogy to rock climbing came up. It sucks when you fall, and it might be even painful, but once you recover from the first shock, you are grateful that the rope and clip-in point (stop-loss 😀) protected you.

People tend to get overexited about events like this and forget that trading is about making consistent profits not catching flash crash moves that happen rarely. After all 20p of profit a day made over 15 days also results in +300p... And this can be made without extreme market events...
