DBCVIX quite mysterious. It was hard to find a chart for it - I'm placing a link below. I still have not found any information on how it is calculated. If anyone happens to have any information on that I would be grateful if you could share.

I learned today that there is a volatility index for forex - Deutsche Bank's currency VIX index, or CVIX (.DBCVIX). And guess what? It is at its lowest level in two years. Should not be a surprise to anyone following the FX market...

Despite the surge of inflation of the past couple years, the average euro area inflation over the last quarter century has been 2.1% per annum, which is not far off target. #PIIECharts #EconSky 📉📈
The European Central Bank (ECB), tasked with maintaining price stability in the euro area, aims for 2 percent per annum consumer price inflation over the medium term. (Before July 2021, the aim was to maintain an inflation rate below but close to 2 percent.) This PIIE Chart shows that, despite the surge of inflation of the past couple of years, the average euro area inflation over the last quarter century has been 2.1 percent per annum, which is not far off target. But 25 years is not “the medium term.” For lengthy subperiods, the ECB’s inflation record has been less successful. As the chart indicates, a multi-year streak of undershooting the 2 percent target from the end of 2013 (annual average inflation at just 0.7 percent) was followed by the current overshoot (annual average inflation since end-2020 has been 5.7 percent).

I always thought that the 2% #inflation target was based on some research or extensive analysis, and now I read this article in Time claiming that it was produced out of thin air. Is the information in this article correct? Maybe someone has more insight into this? #economy

I was reflecting on the use of stop-loss in #trading, and an analogy to rock climbing came up. It sucks when you fall, and it might be even painful, but once you recover from the first shock, you are grateful that the rope and clip-in point (stop-loss 😀) protected you.

People tend to get overexited about events like this and forget that trading is about making consistent profits not catching flash crash moves that happen rarely. After all 20p of profit a day made over 15 days also results in +300p... And this can be made without extreme market events...
