I was making Caesar Salads at home for dinner, and I had some leftover sourdough that I cut up and turned into croutons that I burned. Sadly, I couldn't fix those unfortunately

So are you more of a baker or more of a cook on the savory side??

Was it so much extra flour that it couldn't be fixed by adding a little more water??

That’s good that you’ve had people around you to show you your mistakes. I care, and I’m not lazy when it comes to cooking, nor do I shortcut anything I cook. I believe in doing things the right way. But part of cooking is learning those mistakes and how to fix them.

It’s all about confidence and knowing how to fix it if you fuck something up. People always want to overthink food. If you have some food knowledge and you know flavor profiles, you can be unstoppable. Maybe it’s just all the years in professional kitchens. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

You can always try it. I don't really put to much thought into cooking at home. I cheffed fine dinning for over 20 years and I just want simple food now 😆. Both of those pies look and sound fantastic, I'd tear up both of those. Nice job!

That's the same kinda pizzas I enjoy making. I've really been working at my NY style pies, I had the best outcome so far on a pepperoni I made recently. You should try that crab and corn velouté. I've come to the conclusion that if you really know how to cook and have a pallet, you can make it work.

It worked out great. You've just gotta get the right consistency for the velouté, and you need a hearty dough, like delivery style that can handle that sauce. You can't pull this off correctly with a Neapolitan type dough.
