It was a little distasteful but it's probably hard to come up with a witty response in front of millions of people live when getting called out like that. I was cringing pretty hard though tbh.

6. Traveling long term gets old fast. Maybe I'm in the minority in this idea, but after doing the 5th tour In a month, trying the same cuisine daily, seeing similar beaches, etc. The novelty wears off. I never thought I wouldn't want to continue traveling. Yet here we are. /endrant

5. What it looks like. It's beautiful. Sometimes. Well.. At first. But then you see the same temples and similar beaches and it's kinda like ugh. I love SEA I really do. BUT my expectations which were set by influencers was WAY too high compared to what it actually looks like.

4. This is more me thing but the availability of products that are good for black skin and hair just doesn't exist in America. I'm not saying they SHOULD. But NO ONE talks about this. I didn't bring a big checked bag and was oblivious to this tiny little fact that goes overlooked by influencers.

3. Living conditions in south east Asia are different than western countries. I know everyone says it, but again, influencers love to gloss over this. Western type niceties are 3x the average. Shower? Right next to the toilet. Toilet might be in the ground if you're lucky. Also toilet paper? No.

2. This should have been number 1, but traveling is EXPENSIVE. I know people always say traveling is for rich people. I'm not that. Lucky enough to have gotten here but honestly? Shouldn't be here. All the stuff people post about in Asia it seems cheap but it adds up FAST.

1. Travel days are exhausting. There's nothing at all fun about bouncing around every 4 days going from hotel to hotel. Some places you can fly, others it doesn't make sense or isn't possible. A 12 hour bus ride is brutal no matter how you look at it.

When ever I do this I start to sweat because I know that every little thing I want to do will require a Google search lol. Then I give up and go back to windows. Me and Linux have a toxic ex type of relationship. Can't stop going back, but never feels right when I'm with it.
