Some of the most impactful research by NIH are inquiries into infectious diseases, including this from NIH’s 2024 highlights, a way to turn off prion-producing genes that reduced prion protein levels by 80%, suggesting a new approach for treating prion diseases in people. www.nih.gov/news-events/...
