Haven't kept up with your music tips (sorry) but this post makes me want to share someone that I stumbled into recently that I think you would love (esp. when you do a deep dive into his "origin story" & influences for his music. This one is by far my favorite: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyXc...

That former colleague that I mentioned? He's got a growing family & purchased a home in an area exurb, so he shifted to teaching a specialized behavior group at the elementary level near his new home. He's been playing instrumental versions of Mon Rovio music. He's had his best week ever.

In my early days as a T & circumference was still tested in 8th I always did an activity with toilet paper & paper rulers. They found the circumference, diameter, divided, took as much TP off as they wanted, repeat at least 5 times, kept their data, avg their results. Shared. When he gets bored...

That song has been on my daily playlist ever since you shared it. And, I've shared it with others including one of my all-time fav history teachers (no longer at my campus, sigh). We spent about thirty minutes discussing the lyrics. Hope the kid "breaks out" of his local scene. Thanks again!

Home is DFW area. Our suburb is known for Vietnamese (because it welcomed refugees in the 1970s). Next town over, huge Indian population. TX, so great Mex&Tex/ Mex everywhere. In last decade, we've also scored some pretty good Thai&African places. Can't think of one city that has it all, though.

SUPER jealous (and awesome). But, not surprised. My Mom grew up in a suburb of Denver (Wheatridge). My great aunt & uncle lived their until their passing, and every visit as I grew up was magical (the airport, though, these days, not so magical).

AGREED! I was intentional in taking pics&posting the place on social media. My Mom passed away in June(not unexpected)&the greatest gift she gave me was cooking nearly all of our meals & making sure we could cook. We never did fast food. Still don't. Give me hole-in-the-wall, ethnic food every time!

My husband & I called an audible & decided to try a new Indian restaurant close to our house in a strip most would call a dump. Family owned/run, authentic, & we were only non-Indian peeps there. It was spectacular. But we were both a bit surprised it had a mini-bar. We drank water, but next time..

The Ted Talk is on YouTube in 2 parts. It's worth your time for both the info and music (your Mom might be brought to tears). Next up, I guess, for me, is the interview.

Did your 60 min wormhole include his Ted Talk, because if not, it's a gem of info (and music). www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-xS...

Every time one of my 8th graders drops a double negative while speaking I reply, "Double negatives work in English as well as math." Reply is always stunned silence the first few weeks. By the second quarter a few have stolen my line when they hear one.

LOL! I was going to add some similar script, but opted not to break the chain and just go with the gif!

This reminds me of the most often missed questions on the SAT in Texas - measures of central tendency, because, we "teach" it in 6th grade, and then, unless the student takes AP Prob & Stats, they never see it again until the SAT test.

Similar convos may or may not have occurred between the spouse and I. Probably a universal moment(s) between couples?

Thank you for reminding me of this gem of a scene and now a gif. I LOVE that movie (even after learning it was "inspired" more than "based" on real events). Adult me realizes that was by design, teaching the masses the evils of hate while they watched a love story to music.
