I've wondered if their adoption of polygamy was due to attracting more women than men early on, and not wanting to let their capacity to procreate the next generation go to waste.

There are bits in that movie that I would have sworn were stolen from furry fandom were it not for the fact that it predates the earliest furry room parties by several years.
