My final #OrganDonationWeek post. Making sure your decision, to donate or not, is known is one of the important things you can do. You won't need your organs after you die, but someone else could live a better life because of your decision. Please think seriously about donating.

#OrganDonationWeek continues. I'm nearing my 4th anniversary for my #transplant. The message is to make sure your family knows your decision, no matter which way, so that they follow your views.

This week is Organ Donation Week. Please make sure your wishes are known by others be they to donate your organs or not. Don't forget, once you are dead you don't need them any more.

My wife, Sue, is finally out of #hospital and back #home following her #stroke. She has me running around after her as she is still confined to bed as she can't walk or stand.
September 4, 2025 at 3:39 PM
My wife, Sue, will be coming home next week for the first time since she had a stroke back in March. She is still unable to stand or walk, however, she is determined not to be restricted.

We are both anxious about the support that we will get going forward.

My wife will be #home from the #hospital in around 10 days time. She's been there since 27 Mar following a #stroke. Her team says she won't walk again. She apologies for this, but the stroke could have done so much more damage.

Life goes on. You never know what is around the corner.

The Swiss village wiped off the map by a glacier

Wow! Such devastation.

The ward where my wife, Sue, is recovering from a #stroke, now has #covid. As I'm vulnerable due to the medication I'm on (immuno-suppression due to my #kidney_transplant) I won't be able to visit her for a week.

I think we are both going to miss each other tremendously. #BestFriends

Me with my wife, Sue, after her #stroke diagnosis. Missing her whilst he is being looked after.

Day 12
#PentateuchOfTheCosmology by #DaveGreenslade (1979)

The 2nd band I ever saw was Greenslade, whose leader, Dave, had been in #Colosseum.

This also appeared in my #BookChallenge as it is a double 12" #vinyl and #book with #PatrickWoodroffe

Day 09
#Pulstar by #Vangelis (1976) from Albedo0.39

In 1983, when I met my wife to be, she asked me if I knew a tune which she had in her head. Then she sung, "do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, duh, duh, duh, duh).
The next day I played her "Pulstar" and she replied, "THAT'S IT!"

Day 07
#UncleJohn'sBand by #GratefulDead

There was a local pub band that were named after this track. Incredibly popular and did a great rendition of song. They made one album, unfortunately, they weren't able to transition to become better known to a wider audience.

Day 06
#Boston by Boston

I had saved up my money to buy the perfect Hi-Fi system (for me). My last purchase was speaker cables and when it was all assembled this was the album I played. Fantastic sound which filled my bedroom in my parent's house.

Day 05
#TheJungleBook by #Disney

Another album for my childhood. Such a fantastic music. The vinyl was so much better than the CD I found more recently. Still a fab album.

Day 01
#TheInimitable by #GeorgeFormby (1966)

When I was young this was my musical reference. I watched George on the (b+w) telly. You'll be pleased to know my musical taste has changed. But this was where I started.

#TheTimesComprehensiveAtlasOfTheWorld (various)

We used to spend Sunday mornings either looking through an encyclopaedia or an atlas. Nowadays, the internet makes it easy but still remain ignorant.

Day 19 of 20

#HonsAndRebels by #JessicaMitford (1960)

My wife, Sue, loves this author. In a ploy to shut her up I decided to read this first instalment memoir. Actually, it's very good. What a career... and family.

Day 16 of 20

#RealAle+RealPubsInSussex by #Camra (1987)

This book is so well thumbed I've had to repair it. When I visited a pub I ticked it off. Misspent youth. Now a monument to lost pubs in my neck of the woods.

Thank you @agentmancuso.bsky.social for setting the challenge.
