It's likely a mix of both. Good UI/UX patterns tend to converge in effective tools, but the similarity also suggests "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

P.S. By the way - they run great under WSL. Question is why run a code assistant in terminal unless you're debugging a legacy code base in production on a Win 2000 VM?

That's great! I actually have a short-term need to embed Python as a scripting language in a .NET application, in order to leverage Python's data wrangling and machine learning ecosystem.
