I would have personally wanted them to go Maluach at 8, Jakucionis at 19, Newell at 22, with Powell and Saraf/Wolf at 26/27, but I suppose there can be some possible rationale for having Traore over Jakucionis

But I think this is clearly a bright red tanking signal that says they're going for 2026

If they had gone Maluach at 8, I would have been fine if they had taken the rest of the draft as is.

If they had gone Maluach at 8 and Jakucionis at 19 I would have been overjoyed.

But Demin at 8 and then Traore at 19? This is a declaration of tank

I don't have a problem with the Nets' picks of Powell, Saraf, and Wolf, those seem to be relatively okay to good value for where they were.

But why take Demin at 8 if you were just going to take all these similar guys after? Why not take an upside swing on Maluach at that point?

My dream draft for the Nets would have been Maluach at 8, Jakucionis at 19. If they did that I would be absolutely over the moon and would give them an A+ draft grade

What sucks is that it was totally possible!

Game of Thrones could do that in their later seasons because they had built up the cultural cache to do that. It does not mean that every big show can do the same. Even the spinoff, House of the Dragon can't pull it off. You cannot take a year off, put out a few episodes, and keep people invested

You cannot go back and try to patch this up, you see how many holes the current system has. Right from the basic foundation - the system of checks and balances, the current system fails the test. So if checks and balances are out the window, you need to act accordingly

But I think this is the only way forward, you need to have your own Project 2025 which contains everything you want done, how exactly you want to shape govt, and how you'll do it
