Love putting clips into a spectrogram and seeing exactly what I thought I was hearing. Very satisfying.

Hi. Drink some water. Have a nice tea. Your joy matters. I know. That sounds like hokey inspiration poster bullshit. But the honest truth is—your joy matters to *me* and I want it to matter to *you* very much.

I have started to read the Music Theory Spectrum articles on Public Music Theory and this morning I feel compelled to say that @12tone.nebula.tv’s article was a very engaging and enjoyable read. 🎉 Thanks for your contribution!

Everyone is celebrating him for his (obviously wonderful) songs but I am also celebrating him for releasing all his works into the public domain and insisting he retained no copyrights over any of it.

Dear autistics from around the world,

I hope that not just today but every day you can accept your entire self and see that you matter and that you’re important, valid as you are, and equal to everyone else.

Remember: any challenges you may face do not negate your worth, importance or validity.

Please nobody leave the ice on a stretcher.

Beethoven was a person. Music is made by people, not gods. We need to abolish the circular argument “great music is great because it is great” if we want to have productive conversations about the role of people and art in our society

The word “dildo” arose in 16th Century England, and for decades was used as a filler word in songs, much like “la dee dah” is used today. The result is a couple of old English tunes for lute and countertenor that use the word “dildo” extensively, like this one by Thomas Morley.

It's very good to read books, but those of us who read a lot of books probably have a lot more to learn from doing things in public spaces with other human beings
