I cant now that there is 8" of snow and the gutters arent cleaned. I cant have ladders and people traipsing thru my cords.

The signage had a lot of info about whooping cranes, too, but I am guessing that is a rarity since there are only about 800 left in the wild. 😞

Yes. Started there. But they started flying off, so I got in the car and drove til I found them and more.

Weirdly, they didn't stick around near the platform. I left and drove south on the western edge of the park and found a whole lot more in the field for a local farm. A quartet of cranes were super close. There were tiny ones too.

I got a ton of pics from the observation platform and the area near it. There is plenty of parking and a short trail.

Sandhill Crane counts are very low this year. Not sure why. There were still lots of them, and they are loud.

You could hear them from this hill, but they were also flying in over the trees to the north.
