In #Mnemosyne, you begin with a (generally) fully clothed Vessel, often with its own trinket which may or may not afford some kind of special benefits (or drawbacks).

Naturally, you can swap this out if you find one you prefer.

Working on improving Mnemosyne's in-game helpfile system and its interconnectedness with parts of the UI. see something that confuses you? you may be able to hover over it or click and see more information, sometimes a LOT more.

I realized that some of the skills would be a bit pointless without this feature, and so I prioritized adding ranged weapons that consume ammunition! Judiciously edited video demo:

While not a roguelike, you can indeed experience permanent death in #mnemosyne. While death of your Vessel is not a permanent ending, they are gone.

However, you can still reminisce on their achievements afterwards. (some details redacted to protect the guilty)

One thing I noticed while playtesting is that a lot of the combat in #Mnemosyne ended up being 1v1. This meant either the player character being smushed by an NPC much higher level than them, or steamrolling a trash mob. Decided to prioritize adding NPC followers...

picked better rat sprites (more humanoid, not top-down, have faces, angery 💢) so maybe people won't immediately assume they're murder material #mnemosyne #gamedev #pixel #rpg #mmo #murderhobo
