Your Sims’ babies, and their great-great-grandbabies, will always be using the same tech. This is not a world where I had to walk three miles uphill in the snow to get a new video game when I were a lass. This is a world where your great-great-grandfather was playing the same game on the same TV.

Huh. They were both big parts of my youth and I had never considered them in relationship to each other either. I am now, and wanting a Myst replay.

Yeah, as someone whose heart still lies most with simulationist trad games (oh GURPS my GURPS), I’ve felt the dearth of that lately too. I can enjoy other play styles, but they do feel oversupported by comparison. A few more years and maybe the nostalgia cycle will make them trendy again.

One True Wayism is so tedious. The only people who need to approve of your way of playing are the others at the table. I don’t like scripted narrative either, and consider fudging rolls a failure state, which I’ve only done if my dyscalculia has led me to seriously misjudge something.

Yeah, it was unnerving. 😅 Apparently the clang was it grinding to an abrupt halt. It just won’t move now. It’s clean and not clogged up by anything so just a faulty fan I guess! Have disconnected the power cable until I can get a replacement.

I loved the Roll & Keep version of 7th Sea, and that would probably still be my go-to. The system of 2nd Edition doesn't work as well for me sadly, although the setting has some improvements. I'd love to try All for One: Regime Diabolique at some point as well.
