PCSX2 input lag used to be so horrendous I softmodded my PS2 just to play intense games like Gradius V with less lag.
After my last playthrough of GH I was shocked to find that I was actually able to react to Hard guard breaks, total gamechanger.

Stranger of Paradise making 1 parry reduce soul gauge while another parry recharges it faster (but only after you dodge away and idle) was honestly pretty good.

Good review, one minor correction about Ikaruga chaining: the score bonus maxes out at 9 chains rather than 20.
I did the maths on this and it means a broken chain in an otherwise perfect stage loses you about 200k points.

A less covered aspect that is broken by MGS2 is chaff grenades are nearly useless in TS because you can just shoot the cameras.
