What needs to be take care of when applying privacy amplification by iteration to zeroth-order optimization? Can it even be done? What's the "good design" for DP zeroth-order method? Check out our latest work! It's so nice to collaborate with Wei-Ning (as usual) and Pan!

Previous studies on LLM unlearning primarily focus on average-case scenario. Our work discloses the insufficiencies of existing LLM unlearning methods for long-tailed minority data, which is crucial for privacy considerations.
Our paper about LLM unlearning evaluation is accepted by #icml2025 !

Thanks to the leading author Rongzhe, and my collaborators

(and others may not be on Bluesky).

It's my first "last" author paper. Feels quite special :p 1/n

Reminder: the abstract deadline is today (March 22) AoE

"visualize a cartoonish llama rolling down a medieval gate. The gate is 1/3 down. Above the gate it says "abstract submission""... clearly there are still some open problems 🤦🤦🤦

I am looking at candidates on a rolling basis, so while there's no deadline, there's an advantage of throwing your name in the ring earlier than later

here's my slide from 2019 (early 2020) when i kinda started to gradually _stop_ working on them after a few years of working on it.

Just a poster I'm very proud of. Mainly because it's the first time I led a theory-focused paper 🥳

Coming soon to NeurIPS Workshops near you (two spotlights!!) 🔦

I unfortunately won't be there myself, but Christos and Federico will be around 🚀
