This is an old business theme - equating free markets to personal freedom - that has been pushed and sponsored by business organizations since 1900 at least. It was used to argue for child labor - a father should have the freedom to choose what's right for his family.

Yes. It's certainly valuable to come to know the crackpot canon. I've read Mao's Little Red Book, and I should read Mein Kampf given the current environment. But to better understand Ayn Rand, you should read The Great Myth.
