Wow is that how that works. It really displaces the trauma of the possibility by preventing them from reimagining it? I had really never heard it suggested that way. Homophobia arises as a reaction to its own self-injury as an inter- & intra-generational pattern.

it’s a fight about the methodology of evaluating experiences of the attempt. You feel I can’t be trusted to evaluate the limitations of my own experience, but ultimately it’s because you feel nobody can be trusted. And if you’d read it as cashing in on a gag well sure, just take honest stock it now.

But it is implicit that it would and should always be necessary for me to be capable of imaging being you in some deep and fundamental way were you a ‘you’ in my life. It’s not well articulated that the inferiority of the attempt of is what precludes its use.

It occurred to me later that some will feel that I should not be permitted to think myself capable of imagining what it would feel like to be that guy. And that is very true in your strict sense of imagining.

But I don’t think that really draws the line for homophobia. I think some of them can imagine that guy easily and would want that guy dead if they saw him. This identifies their anger as genocidal (where, of course, not suicidal).

I think throwing in the word ‘manufactured’ is an unnecessary diversion in its own right.
