Bee Balm. This unusual flower is a favorite of hummingbirds. They will slowly circle, getting nectar from each flower. This plant is also called Monarda or Bergamot. The leaves are used in tea and give the distinctive flavor to Earl Gray tea.

Word of the day is ‘beek’ (13th century): to bask in the pleasurable warmth of the sun.

Also available as a noun, as in ‘I took a wonderful beek today’.
