the airport is supposed to be a test of your ability to maintain a zen-like tranquility amidst the noise and chaos. entering the lounge is accepting a defect in your personal character. unless you have kids of course, all bets are off if you have kids
Oh no, the once-elite airport lounge is now just another crowded space.

Notice Mamdani charmed Trump on live TV without backing down on any stances. He didn't water himself down, he didn't even take back calling Trump a fascist. Moderates would say butter him up, or try to appear more right-wing. Voters can see through that—and evidently so does he!

note here in particular that after getting in his shots at his opponents and a little Trump joke, Zohran does the Affordability Pivot

he even specifically says he'll talk to anyone in Washington about policies that can lower the cost of living for New Yorkers

this is a damn median voter message

I despise these AI bros for so many reasons — but among the top for me is that, bc of their egos + recklessness, and bc of a gullible grifter culture that expands their uptake + influence, we’re all now obligated to care abt their bullshit + minimize its harms. I’d rather be doing anything else.

When Moderation Becomes Appeasement
If your chief goal is to find a middle ground with the far right on social issues, you’ll end up condoning its values—just ask Keir Starmer.

This is…kinda awful. All around. I loathe gambling and its takeover of American sports.

Something bugging me is this idea fanned by media that LA and CA were “unprepared” to contain these fires, in particular the Palisades Fire. It was a fire hurricane. Welcome to what climate scientists, activists, and regular folks who understand what they’re reading/seeing have warned for decades.

Kamala’s problems with working class voters wasn’t due to policy, it was due to rhetoric.

Progressive populism works by attacking the economic elites who are exploiting working people and are the reason we can’t have nice things.

Kamala never even came close to telling that story.
