They seem to be less helpful (and cheerful - I'm sure there's a reason) than ever. Ours has unilaterally decided that everyone's nominated safe place for parcels is their wheelie bin. Not even the recycling one.

It's one of the things that puts me off social events, particularly the bear type. I stopped going to a quiz for a while because of similar behaviour from someone I barely knew. And then if you call them out on it then you're a prude. No, it's my personal space and you enter that on *my* terms only.

And yes, the M&S café is rarely busy or stressful, and I find they do simple tea and cake better than any of the coffee chains.

Thanks Gareth! I tend to get very worked up over simple decisions and then blame myself for not being able to make simple decisions and it's hard to break the cycle. Tea and cake appear to have helped. I haven't worked out what's for dinner but I'm on the bus home and will figure it out later!
