Sohren hasn't had a railway station in a while. It still won't, but there's evidence here of efforts to refurbish the line (Hunsrückquerbahn) for freight. I'm assuming they aren't too bothered about the track straightness, when the speed limit in places will be 10-20 km/h... 😂

This is out in a new restoration in UHD. It looks stunning so far. I got emotional in 4K.

Also, LOOK AT THIS CARPET in the New Theatre. Most of it has been replaced but this, up on the balcony, is what it looked like when I used to come here as a child. All the seedy glamour of a regional touring theatre in the later 20th century...

Alongside my general feeling about this job at the moment, it's hard not to feel like maybe my boss is making a point when he sends me out to move 8 cars from one end of the car park to the other in the pouring rain 5 minutes before the end of the working day.

Halfway through the boiler installation... Apparently using water upstairs is pushing water out somewhere in what was the airing cupboard and it's going through the floor. Joy.

For those who like to travel within a budget, the new Couchettes Plus offering on Brittany Ferries' 'Guillaume de Normandie', on Portsmouth-Caen, is worth a look. A berth added £12 to my day trip booking and these little sleeping pods are very comfortable. There's a lounge area too. I slept well.
