Same here. I grew up shuttling between the Baptist, Church of Christ, Methodist and Christian churches depending on which relative or friend I accompanied.

I NEVER encountered anyone like these white “Christian” nationalists. The US evangelical movement is nothing but a naked power grab.

NPR has very sound and truthful reporting. You see what’s happening to them.

Yeah. The Bible says “render unto Caesar”. It doesn’t say “become Caesar and forget everything Jesus said”.

Not to scare you but half of the news agencies in the US are underreporting how bad things are and the other half is outright complicit.

It’s not my America anymore. On top of that…”Christianity” has gone almost completely haywire. A lot of them will cheer as the republicans burn the planet thinking that it will bring on the rapture or some such nonsense

Integrity and decency are no longer part of the republican credo. That’s gone. Potentially forever. Being decent wasn’t helping achieve their goals. They still had tragically sucky policies.

The really sad part is that there are obviously large swathes of America that are populated by people who are too ignorant or who are too in love with cruelty to know or care (let alone vote) for what’s right.

This won’t be fixed in my lifetime. The republicans will never cede power just because they can’t win without cheating. trump has indisputably proven that being a malignant narcissist who lies with impunity and has no shame, morals, ethics or respect for the law is the republican way forward.
