Post-Christianisation, it seems that Sutton Hoo was turned to another purpose. Some very-much-not high status burials have also been unearthed, as have the remains of a primitive gallows

Although not buried in mounds, these were also high status graves judging from some of the artefacts recovered when construction started on the foundations for the VC. It’s been hypothesised that these may be the graves of the extended family of the Wuffingas not directly connected to the royal line

Middle Ages and Early Modern Period. The mounds are theorised to have been the graves of the kings and princes of the Wuffingas, the royal family of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of East Anglia

There’s also a second burial site located underneath what’s now the Sutton Hoo Visitor Centre.
