It’s certainly an arms length way of engaging with the unthinkable 🙂. Always wondered what the motivation for creating the game really was tbh. You highlight a bunch of interesting choices!

Thought that struck reading it. My sense is there was a *relative* lack of interest in military or contemporary TTRPGs back then, unless they had an element of fantasy (007 etc). Clearly post nuclear counts then as ‘fantasy’? Curious psychology there…

It’s a hugely interesting piece, feels like opening a very fertile area for further investigation. So many angles to take!
