Not sure what I am yet, I mean it’s early days. Mainly SF&F, TTRPG etc 80s geekery on this. Grogsquad adjacent. Part time historian (MA ✅, PhD tbc). Dabbling writer. Scot by origin, Irish/Euro by choice & fortune. Possibly a cat-operated meat puppet.
Hard to recall these days how it permeated popular US culture then.

It’s certainly an arms length way of engaging with the unthinkable 🙂. Always wondered what the motivation for creating the game really was tbh. You highlight a bunch of interesting choices!

Excellent, that’s one preorder.

Thought that struck reading it. My sense is there was a *relative* lack of interest in military or contemporary TTRPGs back then, unless they had an element of fantasy (007 etc). Clearly post nuclear counts then as ‘fantasy’? Curious psychology there…
