A hard lesson of history is that "normal" doesn’t return on its own. People have to fight for it. And they have to believe in it.

Take Anne Frank. Her hope wasn’t ignorance, it wasn’t naive, it was courage. It was choosing to keep her humanity intact in a world that was trying to erase it.

was organizing some old 4x5 scans and found some photos that i really, really like and had completely forgotten about. first one is the paramount theater, second is a long-since removed oldsmobile that was down the street from me, and third is downtown building that gets gorgeous sunlight at dusk.

I am absolutely begging people to learn nuance and recognize that not everything is black and white. Online rhetoric wants to draw a line in the sand when often the discussion is a microcosm of the broader issue.

We disregard this at our peril. Movement building is, by nature, inclusive.

As of this morning, the number of bats I have liberated from church basements in 2026 has eclipsed my tally for all previous years of my life combined.

Apparently this is what happens when I talk too much 😄 The Internet isn't always terrible.

My little conversation constellation 🥹 I'm weirdly emotional about it.

I don't have a hot rod, so Jesus didn't build it, but the Holy Spirit tuned my six-string.

ROBIN HOOD (2010) is a top 5 Ridley Scott movie, for me, and the best adaptation of the English myth. Too many great versions in other cultures to count, but this, too, is a good one.

Underrated: no white Chrismas. Less snow means more people can travel and be with their folks. 🙂

Capitalism's apologists will tell you it begets order from chaos. No. It imposes an order by an interested few, the main thrust of which is to ensure they remain interested. And few.

It can be exhausting. But hope isn’t passive optimism; it’s a daily discipline.

You show up, again and again, and refuse to accept a world that harms people by design.

That’s how transformation actually happens.
