There was an actual long and winding road that lead to the door of Paul McCartney's farmhouse in the Scottish highlands where he wrote this song. There are many ways to interpret this song, and it changes. That's the beauty of art.

Sea turtle tracks, nests, building surf... I am grateful to be reminded of how beautiful our planet can be.

Anguish, like ecstasy, is not forever. There comes a gentleness, a returning quietness, a restoring stillness….- A. Powell Davies

My Dutchman’s Pipe Vine and pitcher plants are doing well despite the stretch of unusual heat we had. Thankful for rain.

I found a false crawl - that's when a sea turtle detects trouble and abandons her crawl. She returns to the sea without laying her eggs. I thought of her, and of the burdens I was carrying as I walked on. We all have our reasons for moving.

“Feathers appear when angels are near.” I don’t know who said this..? I found this tiny feather on my seed feeder this morning at sunrise. I hope it makes you happy, too. 🥰🕊️🪶🐚

I did this drawing from an old photo of myself many, many years ago - maybe when I was in my 20's? For some reason it caught my eye this morning while working. It reminded me that the children we were, remain.

Man-O-War prevented me from walking in the water this morning. Disappointed, I had to keep my eyes downward to prevent stepping on one or a tentacle. That, however, turned into my sunrise walk lesson of the day. I must fix my eyes on the present moment, and take one step at a time. 🕊️🐚🪶

Every drop of rain holds water that has been recycled so many times, it might contain pieces of our planet’s history much older than we can imagine. This droplet graced a blossom my lemon tree out back. 🌧️

Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself… That doesn’t make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.”

1lb fresh strawberries, 3/4 c of sugar & juice from a fresh lemon will give you the most delicious small batch of strawberry preserves. I just made a jar for my sister & one for moi. It stays good in the refrigerator for 10 days.
Note: you must use a good quality
heavy-bottomed pot.
