Compression stockings or abdominal compression(like a girdle/corset) can help, especially if things are bad when you have to stand for extended periods

An actual saline IV can work miraculously for a limited time, but at much higher cost with some additional risks

I don’t have lc but those are pretty typical POTS numbers. The simplest short term treatment is hydration. Unless it’s contraindicated for medical reasons increasing sodium is a huge help.

Liquid IV has the stupidest name but is a very effective electrotype powder

I think if I own a magazine and hire a freelancer to write an essay explaining Marxist terminology that would make me bourgeoisie and them petite bourgeoisie. But if I hired them as a staff writer would they become proletarian?

Of course a large percentage of creators don’t survive off their creative pursuits and need to perform wage labor

I’ve accepted that universal masking will likely never be attempted again, but I’m absolutely baffled that more people don’t mask on mass transit and in medical settings out of pure self-interest.

Having people around me constantly praise the benefits of my masking and having no interest in doing it themselves or being less sick is mystifying.

Having a doctor—the same one who prescribes me immunosuppressants—do this almost broke me. She said, “That’s smart, I should probably be masking too.”

Did she then attempt to locate a mask in a well-stocked medical office? Nope.

Did she wear one at my follow up 2 months later? Also nope!

I have no idea how the CN sales/marketing department brings in revenue because I got the year of digital and print + a free tote bag for $12 and managed to secure the following year for $6 by threatening to cancel my subscription.

I’m not seeing any discount on the page or in the cart for those items. Is it still supposed to be active? I was excited to see the sale was extended because I’m traveling right now and completely forgot time zones were a thing, but I might be too late after all.

The sweaty thing is so weird because it’s an all or nothing side effect. Either I’m fine, or I need a change of clothes and a shower.

Now I’m really curious. I have a pilocarpine script that I rarely use. It works great for oral dryness but leaves me drenched in sweat about 15% of the time. Next time things get bad enough to outweigh the risk I’ll have to pay attention to any affect on my autonomic wonkyness

I’m intrigued…are the meds prescribed for sjögren’s dryness peripheral cholinergic agonists?

Until we got a cat I always used a small plate. Now, we have a ceramic butter dish with a cover.

I’ve primarily lived along the west coast(US), not too humid, but occasionally hot enough to require the butter be temporarily moved to the fridge in the summer to prevent it from liquifying.

That looks really cool, but how easily does butter go rancid?

I’ve been a countertop butter person my entire life and never once had it go rancid, so now I’m wondering if I just eat butter too quickly for it to ever become an issue.

Wait, do you have an author newsletter? I’m trying to be less reliant on social media for following authors, but I didn’t see a signup link on your website.
