Growing into the fullest expression of the person God made you to be, even if that enrages the ignorant, bigoted majority, is the only “gender ideology” there ever was. We have been fighting this battle to simply live as we were meant to live and mind our own business for a long damn time y’all.

Carefully counting noises, waiting patiently for every other person to leave the restroom and praying I don’t encounter anyone on the way out. Ask any trans woman and they’ll probably tell you the same. I am bitterly tired of living my life under siege.

It is a small gesture to come out in this freezing cold and walk around the park with a sign. We’ll be there as well as a few of our friends and some folk we met at church yesterday. Maybe more will show, maybe it’ll just be us.

If you’re trans and you work for or contract for the federal government, today is going to be hard. They’re going to strip us of our dignity and make it sound like a reasonable, responsible thing that decent people couldn’t disagree with.

On top of all of the fear and anger this is the heartbreak that is crushing my soul. I spent 44 years hiding in misery and isolation. It gave me such hope to see how open and unfettered the younger folks were. We promised them “it gets better” and they believed us. They should never have known this.
