No matter what "Serenity" thinks, trans is not a mental illness. Stifling gender dysphoria creates additional stress.
My convalescent leave was 6 weeks. A pregnant woman is undeployable longer than that. I had to dilate 3 times a day. If deployed and can't, that's my risk, doesn't affect readiness.

"Serenity" doesn't understand gender dysphoria. It's not delusional, it's a treatable, best treated by transitioning. The DSM V deleted gender identity disorder and added gender dysphoria. Until 1973 homosexuality was a mental illness. Nobody thinks that now. Being trans is not a mental illness.

As a post-up trans woman and Army retiree, I claim long term lived experience about it. My only maintenance med is Estradiol. It's a bird control component & thousands of cisgender women on birth control deploy every day. There's no medication reason to bar trans people.

Michael, I caught Admiral Stav and your discussion of trans service, delayed, or I would have called in. The verbiage in the EO about living honorable, truthful and disciplined life is straight out of the ADF, and is completely bass-ackwards. A trans person is the most truthful person there is.
