I think part of the work of white people (white women in particular, like me) is to connect with a conservative or two, to start. It doesn't have to be a relative; a neighbor, coworker, at the gas station driver - go out of our way to be the change in our own daily lives. If we soften, they might 🙏🏼

I was right near an Ulta, so I thought I'd pop in. Walking towards the exterior door, I put on my mask. A woman who was leaving the mall noticed, and went out of her way to walk near/past me, fake coughing in my direction.
