Engineer. Artist. Dog dad. I love all things music and circuits! I keep it positive.
MIDI makes me grouchy, but mostly because of the historical 8 bit-ness of it. I also think it's too tied to western keyboard conventions, but mostly everything has decent fixes or workarounds these days.

I'm having a lot of fun controlling the 0-Coast with a combo of MIDI and CV! #modular #synthsky

Okay, the EP-40 Riddim is just straight up fun! 🕺🎹 It has some really nice upgrades over the KO 2, although I wonder if some will trickle down. I love the new synth engines and the improved looper!

Btw this was my "portable" set up down at my parents' farm 🤣 #modular #synthsky #teenageengineering

Modular synths are not for everyone, but they are definitely for me! I absolutely love patching this thing from scratch 🤓

Other signs you might love modular include thinking:
- You would rather die than use presets
- Money isn't real
- 12TET is a prison for your boundless creativity

I've had a K.O. II since shortly after release and not only have they addressed almost all the shortcomings since release, it's just downright one of my favorite instruments to play! It's my go-to drum machine, idea sketch pad, and messing around toy. Sequencing MIDI with it is next level! 😎🕺

I spent 3 days of free time setting up this patch 😱 It was so satisfying finally laying down some takes of the idea I had rattling around my head! #synthsky #modular

I bought this mini 4ms case to house and isolate my in-development modules but it quickly filled up as a controller! Now my keyboard is collecting dust in the corner while I salivate over a 0-ctrl on Reverb 😅 #modular #synthsky

I asked my wife if it's too early too call this a classic and she said none of my internet friends can stop me. It's a classic! #youredead #flyinglotus

I avoid politics-posting here but I will say: if you are upset about something, try writing a letter to your elected reps instead of shouting into the wind on social media!

It shapes the conversation and they do pay attention when people make extra effort to reach them, especially many people.

Ears is a really fun module!

*Ears*
contact mic -> Rings audio in
gate -> Rings strum
envelope follower-> Maths slew -> LPF cutoff (-)

*Rings*
Odd harmonics -> LPF

*Pressure Points*
Pressure -> Maths glide/slew -> Rings damping (+)
Pitch (3) -> Rings V/oct

Results in percussive sub bass growl!

I did appreciate the level of detail my hyper focused past self left in the project documentation though!

My work friend live texted me his response to my music and tbh it's my favorite reaction I've gotten 😍

Just got my copy from the mail! Looking forward to a nice Chicago fall afternoon 🤓

I always see your posts and thought of them while in Greece recently every time they gave me the right glass! 😂

I made this nonsensical meme to help my friends continue to not understand what my project is or why I won't stop talking about some guy named HAL #diy #adhd

A currently working vertical slice example from the Sound Byte Libs firmware library!

This level of abstraction and ease of set up have been my north star while working on the library APIs. This code runs on a variety of ARM microcontrollers and a native simulator by changing only a CLI arg! #diy

This has been a really fun patch to play with! Routing my computer's audio into the Palette case for listening and sampling. I have the MFD cross fading the sound source for Morphagene between the audio line in and Rings. It's fun to just listen to music or sample it and process it! #synthsky

So based on this (very good) book I'm reading, I'm no longer sure if I'll be able to fit the Shapeware 1U analog wave shaper circuit in 6HP without making some serious compromises. It could surely be done by robots, but for now I need to keep things hand solderable! Need more opamps 👀 #synthsky

Having a ton of fun processing Plaits through Beads today! I'm feeling much more comfortable with the module after a few hours learning and internalizing the UI. A very different granular experience from Morphagene! #modular #synthsky

My first time playing a new @hideokojima.bsky.kojimaproductions.jp game on release day was Metal Gear Solid 3. What a wonderful thing to be here a full 20 years later feeling the magic yet again as I dive into Death Stranding 2. It's been a great year for gaming! 👾🕹️

This synth has been a lot of fun to play. I became obsessed with building a case around Morphagene that would be fun to play without a keyboard. Im glad I stuck with Pressure Points, because it's got a very musical response! Don't listen to the Maths haters out there! #modular #makenoise

Today I'm just admiring the beautiful board layout of the #RaspberryPi 5. It's mesmerizing 😯

Love em, hate em, or somewhere in between, you gotta respect the Doepfer design philosophy. Great quality components and easy to repair boards. #modular #synthdiy

The wave shaping is looking different than I thought it would but actually looks like some fun shapes! Still a few kinks to work out, but the circuit has been coming alive lately! I'm still testing & refining before I put audio rate signals in but I am excited to hear the output! #modular #synthdiy
