i usually pull this card within the first few minutes of the New Year, and it serves as my personal Year's card. you can reasonably pull it whenever, so long as it is within the first day.

whatever your final card ends up being, i hope it renews your Faith in yourself for 2025 ✨

HARAMBE!

Heri za Kwanzaa! The 7th and final day of #Kwanzaa, and its Principle is #IMANI - FAITH.

To contrast the previous one, this one's power is in its simplicity- it's just a single card~

The idea for this one is to challenge your field of vision - the longer the spoke, the further your reach, so be bigger and bolder with each step!

Habari gani? It's the last day of the year [thank fuck] and it's the 6th day of #Kwanzaa! Today's Principle is #KUUMBA - CREATIVITY - and that means you get the longest tarot spread to really cut loose with!:

WHAT
NEED, RIGHT AWAY

It's a spread I designed with room for extrapolation. Think of it like observing the multiple flowers and fruits that can be produced from a single planted seed. There are always many ways your gifts can take shape!

Habari gani, everyone? today your #Kwanzaa Principle today is #NIA - Purpose!

It's another spread that connects with the previous two, where we think about how we show up in our community with our gifts, talents, etc.

Not everyone'd purpose is the same, and your purpose can also change shape!

It's a spread that ties in nicely with yesterday's focus on community, and extrapolating more on our role within that framework.

Usually around this time I also start to look at the elemental alignment of this spread and the previous ones to establish a pattern, as well as noting any signifiers

Habari gani? Day 4 of #Kwanzaa is #UJAMAA - COOPERATIVE ECONOMICS

If we know that we are connected to our community and they are connected to us, how do we best ensure our own actions are in alignment?

as usual, here is your spread:

The big takeaway from this particular spread layout is this:

The Collective wants my Success, and The Collective mirrors my Wounds.
December 28, 2024 at 8:36 PM
I think this is the spread that requires me to put in more work, because I use it as the one that most realigns me with the Collective as well as the Community I wish to be of service to through my practice.

As such, this spread pulls no punches.

(Also apologies, these tarot spread colors are probably not the correct colors of their corresponding Kwanzaa candle- it's unfortunately not that surprising that there is contradicting info about the exact order of things, so I may have messed up)

Habari Gani? Today's #Kwanzaa's Principle is #UJIMA - COLLECTIVE WORKS + RESPONSIBILITY

because yes, it's all connected. We've been screaming that from the rooftops for a hot minute.

Here is the Tarot spread for today:

As the prompt for this one says, there's no accounting for reversals here! today is for affirming just who the fuck you are and what you are capable of.

if you pull a card with a more 'negative' tone here, let it instead indicate the obstacles you will overcome. So be it, so do it!

Habari gani, everyone? Today is the 2nd day of #Kwanzaa and thus I have a new tarot spread for today's Principle: #KUJICHAGULIA - SELF-DETERMINATION.

no lie, this is my favorite spread out of the bunch:

Also because as a Black Diasporic person, I appreciate the depth and complexity of this deck and its messages in a way I can only describe as Black AF. When you know, you know.

As an example, here was the spread I pulled from my 2021 reading so that y'all can also see the cards from the deck!

For something like this I would suggest you use the deck you feel that isn't afraid to lay your shit bare when you wanna go under the surface more.

I tend to use the Akamara Tarot for my Kwanzaa readings for that reason.

For Dec 26th, the 1st Principle is #Umoja or UNITY. The prompt is: how can your actions in the New Year help you work to a better sense of Unity in your various communities?

For a bonus, pull a shadow card to see what subconsciously stands in your way:

Dirty Diana and They Don't Care About Us are top tier for me!
