Don't plan to make it to midnight, I think sleeping in a nice comfy bed with a blanket monster is better. So, happy new year in advance. I hope we all can enjoy a mentally and emotionally safe year to come.

Today has been busy, with lots of sensitive toddler moments. If you decide to visit Victoria, BC totally approve the Butterfly Gardens (really pretty, but the sounds were a bit much for my little) and Miniature World (loved the trains, buttons, and buses, and I enjoyed seeing the history depicted).

Enjoying a short vacation in Victoria, British Columbia. Haven't been back here in a long time, but still feels like home. I lived here for 6 years and my wife did too, but we didn't meet till later.

Today at dinner my little one wanted to play doctor, while the rest of us were finishing dinner. He was bust checking people with his "stethoscope " and then paused and was like, "Doctor has to go poo poo" and turned and ran off.

My little one has been waking up in the middle of the night and having trouble getting back to sleep. This ends up with us moving to the living room and me having to spend the rest of the night on the couch... it has been a long week.

First time in a long time, maybe only third time since he was born, my son went to sleep without me. It was sad to miss it, but he is safe and in bed and now I am just sitting next to him listening to him sleep. Being a parent is a strange thing.
