The cowards of this regime try to rewrite history and erase the contributions of people like James Okubo. I was honored to attend ceremonies for the award of his posthumous Medal of Honor.
There are no generals without soldiers.

Go ahead, normalize this.
Cover it like any other presidential tweet. Oh wait.

He’s performing in the role of president while acting like a petulant prince. (Insult intentional.)

This is not okay.

Yeah, no kidding.

Thank you for this!

My grandfather wouldn’t let Pete Hegseth tie his boots.

I don’t like Kristi Noem using the word patriot like she invented it.

There are thousands of people who agree with me and I have examples of the patriots in my family.

My grandfather’s description of war crimes trials at Dachau. I met a Polish man who attended as a young man, and 44 years later, all he talked about was the American justice for Nazis. He knew the name/rank of every American.

We got a pack of small US flags for this reason, to give out on 10-18.
It’s our flag, too.
I’m not a big fan of red, but I’m mad that they think they can steal colors, too.

A WWII era comic book.
That’s my grandfather.
His troops were renowned for their speed on foot (the Truscott trot). Through mountains.
Go to hell, Hegseth.

This “stopped fighting to win” is bullshit and insulting to the people who serve.
I know a few
and I’ll say it —unlike all those who allow him to desecrate Arlington, insult Gold Star families, POWs and the war dead.
Pick a side, America. We fight tyrants in my family.

Funny how I get more traction on the formerly great NYTimes site than I do here after many months…
I posted this comment on Molly Jong Fast’s excellent piece.

This is my grandfather, General Lucian K. Truscott, Jr.. He led forces in Italy and France and defeated tyrants and dictators.

He’s buried in Plot 1 at Arlington.

Trump/Hegseth showed that our once great country can be led over a cliff.
Thousands have died defending freedom.
Make it matter.
