The cowards of this regime try to rewrite history and erase the contributions of people like James Okubo. I was honored to attend ceremonies for the award of his posthumous Medal of Honor.
There are no generals without soldiers.

I’ll just go on the record and get it over with.

All this talk about the midterms as our big opportunity in 2026 is batshit crazy.

So much can go wrong between now and 2026. Obviously.

Plan for the worst and be happily surprised if it doesn’t happen.

Otherwise—my receipt.

Go ahead, normalize this.
Cover it like any other presidential tweet. Oh wait.

He’s performing in the role of president while acting like a petulant prince. (Insult intentional.)

This is not okay.

I don’t like Kristi Noem using the word patriot like she invented it.

There are thousands of people who agree with me and I have examples of the patriots in my family.

You know, I’m not excited about “Prime Day.”

At all.

I hope Jeff and Lauren understand.

My grandfather’s description of war crimes trials at Dachau. I met a Polish man who attended as a young man, and 44 years later, all he talked about was the American justice for Nazis. He knew the name/rank of every American.

A WWII era comic book.
That’s my grandfather.
His troops were renowned for their speed on foot (the Truscott trot). Through mountains.
Go to hell, Hegseth.

Funny how I get more traction on the formerly great NYTimes site than I do here after many months…
I posted this comment on Molly Jong Fast’s excellent piece.

“My country tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty
Of thee I sing”

My earworm today is a dirge.
(I can’t remember the rest of it—a true earworm curse—and it gets christian at the end, but still.)
Take back our country.
Stop them asap. We can hold trials later.

The statue of Donald and Jeffrey is back on the National

Besties forever.

This is my grandfather, General Lucian K. Truscott, Jr.. He led forces in Italy and France and defeated tyrants and dictators.

He’s buried in Plot 1 at Arlington.

Trump/Hegseth showed that our once great country can be led over a cliff.
Thousands have died defending freedom.
Make it matter.

Democrats are “handicapped by their affinity for negotiations over bare-knuckle political warfare”

[Jill Lawrence | MSNBC Opinion Columnist]

Chuck Schumer et al scurry around like this is business as usual.
They think they can negotiate with a madman.
Wake up before democracy is ruined.

Woke up this morning with Jeffrey on my mind.

Amidst the squid ink and clever distractions they are throwing at us (eg the Kash Patel Show)…

Let’s never forget the memory of Jeffrey.
