Nothing new ! Trump is typical of the kings, queens, emperors czars, pharaohs etc etc of the past - they were brutal, misogynistic, egomaniacs, and used their subjects for their own purposes. The idea of leaders serving the people is only a recent concept.

With an autocratic president, a weakness of the US political structure has been exposed. In a parliamentary system the leader of the opposition party remains & becomes a voice of resistance. Once an election is over in the US, the opposition is leaderless, making it hard to rally any opposition.

The best punishment for Trump, if ever he is convicted, is to put him in one of his own low cost apartments with the average salary of a garbage collector, who he cosplayed, take away his phone & orange face, and watch him struggle to survive the real world of using the subway & buying groceries
