But football clubs aren’t really supposed to be something for everyone, for all fans around the world. Their history is rooted in the place they come from. The core fanbase has to always be its domestic local fanbase. Fans abroad will never be fans in the same way the locals are

Albeit without the arrogance and simplistic discussion of how they’re going to make loads of efficiency savings and cut the waste of the incumbent government that they have such contempt for

Feels pretty hard to care about the Champions League with the new format these days. Don’t know if that’s reflected in attendance or viewership etc. Exciting if you’re trying to make the top 24 but not really for everyone else it seems

And also that it’s unworkable, as if they would do it if it were workable

Woh what happened to Peru and Chile?!

Finland 🇫🇮 is amazing. I went to Tampere and saw Ilves vs AZ this summer, so I’m hoping they win the Finnish league this year and qualify for league phase next year. I will make a football trip organised around a league phase fixture, though Kuopio may be ambitious to get to and not cheap!

They might as well raise taxes now. What I am pretty sure of is that if taxes were raised now, then nobody would be able to reverse them. Like Elon Musk with DOGE, cutting things useful to people turns out to not be as easy in practice as it sounds in theory

England. I would say probably 7.5-8/10. Majority supportive, those on the extremes left and right not so much.

And Celje haven’t started the year that well in Europe, getting knocked out of Europa League, but they could still hammer Rishi Sunak’s team

Think England could have really done with Ashlee Hincks and Emily Donovan to make life a lot easier though!

That would prevent from happening one thing I saw on the EFL highlights years ago, where the penalty was taken, keeper saved it, both striker and keeper try to get to the loose ball, striker gets to the ball first and gets taken out by the keeper, and then the referee gives another penalty again

Wow tonight’s friendly really sold out?
July 22, 2025 at 8:35 PM
Well it wasn’t the slightest bit surprising that a Corbyn-led Labour party widely perceived to be anti-British for reasons like this lost 2 elections
July 22, 2025 at 7:33 AM
But when you have cases like Labour Conference being full of Palestine flags while the same people openly expressed revulsion towards the British flag, and when Palestine protests were more about attacking Labour politicians than Palestine, you have to question what’s really in it for those people
July 21, 2025 at 9:57 PM
I agree. They don’t object to numerous other wars in the same way. For many, Palestine is merely a means to oppose the Jews, capitalism and the United States. Israel’s actions have been awful but there’s plenty of other conflicts to be angry about.

Two year contract for Bugiel is looking even more generous now, and Josh Kelly isn’t even a League Two player
July 21, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Good luck with that… And if that doesn’t happen?
