Seemed fine to me
NavBot’s response to being told to smile seems perfectly reasonable.

Hear me out: new season of Slow Horses, but it’s just six hours of Gary Oldman insulting Pete Hegseth to his face.

Anthony Calf’s character Robert Strickland in “New Tricks” makes me think of the Rivers of London character Thomas Nightingale.

This whole thread is very correct. Until I was laid off from the Reader, half of what I did was try to divine previous decisionmaking because nobody really knew why things had been built the way they had been. And now that's true with my work there too. A frustrating cycle continues.
I do think that one of the biggest problems I hear about inside media companies is a total lack of institutional memory. Top level leaders are not involved at the level of detail to know what is happening and media cos are constantly shedding, and failing to provide incentives to retain, talent.

For the new year, I’m going to follow Dan Sinker’s guide on daily journaling. I struggle with task management at work, and with keeping track of what I’ve done throughout the year. I also have some chronic illnesses that would benefit from tracking. https://dansinker.com/posts/reflections

This utter failure to understand the nuance and complexity of chronic pain and injury is why it's so hard for people with disabilities and pain to navigate getting care or accessible options for participating in the world.
