Amen! The planning commission acts as if they only get to do this once! They can increase it again in a year but they can NEVER decrease it.
But if that's what they want to do, that's why there's a vote. I just don't want anyone hiding behind an excuse of some mandate they must increase density. The plan gets updated in 5 years. Planning for it starts in 2. This isn't some last bite at the apple.

My key takeaway from reviewing the agendas this week is that the message for which the students who were winners and finalists in the American Legion Oratorical Contest are being recognized is one folks everywhere need reminded of.

IF this project moves forward it should ONLY use CRA funds.
This project raised questions that still haven't been answered and its fate is still not decided. As such, I've written an FYI post so when it comes back in May and June, I can just link.

This item was continued until June. I think I'm going to give its own post at this point as I've now referenced it 3 times. Put it all in one place and link to it when it comes back. It will also be on the May CRA agenda. For any chance to pass, it needs confirmed funding that isn't general fund $$$
One of the items before Council this week is the Ashley Dr project. What started out mostly to address I-275 ramp with a federal grant secured by Rep Castor, has more than doubled in size. The mayor plans on paying for some of it with bond funding as well as expecting a downtown CRA contribution.
