It was great to have @eh-hayles.bsky.social with us for a placement, working with data UKHSA collects on clusters of Salmonella cases, and assessing travel associations across the dataset.

Been struggling to think of anything to say since getting back to work. Probably too tired. So here is a boring pic of my tea which I am now washing down with a huge glass of red wine. 🍷👌

Husband picked up an illness on our pub crawl the other night (totally selfish cunt coughing in a bar) and now he is hot as fire and really poorly. I am due to go back to work Monday after 3 months off and I will be livid if I get this. #illness

Panto with Gand kids today. Autistic 4yr old made it to half time and was then collected by his dad. He is a beautiful little soul and seeing him overwhelmed hurts my heart. When I got home all he wanted was me and a huge tight cuddle. That boy melts my core. ❤️ #Autism

#Christmas has been cleared away lovingly and put back in the loft. Quick hoover up of the glitter and really looking forward to a healthy more laid back year. #2024

My gallbladder is aching. If I even look at food that is slightly unhealthy I get a sick lump in my throat. Time to clean up the eating. #food

#Homemade turkey #soup was divine this year. It’s a #tradition that will end with me because none of my kids like soup. (One is veggie, one only likes Heinz tomato and the boy won’t because he can’t order it in) So full of everything that is good for you but takes a fair amount of effort to make.

Going to cook the Turkey today instead of tomorrow (daughter’s birthday dinner we didn’t do yesterday) because I am so paranoid it might be off. Seen so many posts about rotten birds. Best not be for £95 from M&S. #nervous

Been to the Panto. Diversity the dance group were absolutely amazing. Granddaughter got to go up on stage and do the usual singing and gift bit. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Christmas is here now. #Pantomime #DiversityDance #ChristmasEve

Tonight Gluggagægir (Window Peeper), the 10th of Iceland's 13 Yule Lads, comes down from the mountains. He likes to peep into windows to see if there is something inside worth stealing.

Children leave their shoes out in the window, he gives the good ones a small gift, the bad ones get a potato.
