In here - spoken language for me would be English (United Kingdom) and then whatever language the student would need. The only downside is if you have a large amount of different EAL that you can only choose one language.

After my year 7 lesson yesterday I have decided to get to a shop this weekend to buy some of the cheaper scientific calculators to help the students who have been (in my opinion) “mis-sold” cheap “scientific” calculators. I had to put this on the board. #MathsToday #Edusky

I like doing this drawing to help - I also make a lovely quip about how I know it’s not to Mr (art teacher)’s standard and it is just a doodle to help me remember.

Not from experience by maybe try the exercise where you have two people lying on their back cycling legs with feet pressed up against each other (and make sure they are with someone who is “cycling” backwards) (very sorry, looked for a pic but couldn’t - happy to add more detail if needed!)

I have some of my/our old childhood books in my bookcase. (Including 2 about numbers!)
