Another is stuff like "if they believe that, I've got a bridge to sell them", which is a saying based on a real world historical event, so the story needs to be transposed into the setting, and have it well known enough that the characters would have heard of it

Example, a phrase based on a technology that doesn't exist in the setting. If someone refers to "switching gears", you best be sure that people in rural pre inciting incident village in the middle of nowhere would a) know what a gear is and b) have ever seen a gear in their life, if they even exist

Currently trying to pick my next game, between either Mass Effect Legendary Edition or Persona 5 Royal, both of which are fairly cheap in the steam sale at the minute

The thing that keeps irking me the most is that while there are no ads, most of the people that pop up in my feed are ultimately trying to sell me something (check out my YouTube/Twitch, subscribe to my Patreon, buy my music/art etc.) which seems slightly disingenuous.
